5th class had a their school tour at Butler's Chocolate factory today and truly got the Butler's experience. We learned many interesting facts about chocolate like when and where it was first discovered by the Aztecs. Did you know that the Aztec Emperor Montezuma drank 50 golden goblets of 'choclati' every day! Then we got to visit the museum and learn about how Butler's was founded by a lady named Marion Butler. Today it's factory in North Dublin employs over 400 people alone. Our tour of the factory was brilliant as we got to see the journey of all of the chocolate that we ate today! The robotic machine that packages the chocolate was so fun to watch at work! Finally we became chocolatiers at work as we designed our own chocolate elephants.
