Every child is invited bring in and donate €2 to the foundation and they will be given a ribbon by their teacher to design and wear for the day. What is The Caroline Foundation? The Caroline Foundation is about CANCER RESEARCH - a charitable foundation (constituent of Cancer Clinical Research Trust, CCRT – www.ccrt.ie ) with the specific purpose of funding an additional SCIENTIFIC RESEARCHER through The Caroline Foundation Cancer Research Fellowship – 100% of all funds raised go directly to CANCER RESEARCH. Why is this foundation so important to our school? This Foundation was established in memory of Caroline Dwyer Hickey who passed away in March 2013 having lived with cancer for nine years. Caroline was an inspiring and very much adored teacher who loved every day of the 13 years she worked here in St Brigid’s. Caroline had participated in clinical trials through the CCRT as a patient of Prof John Crown who set up CCRT. Click on this link to find out more: http://thecarolinefoundation.com/ |
