Some 5th & 6th class pupils made Scratch projects based on aspects of the 1916 Easter Rising. They used 'Scratch' to create animations and tell the story of the people involved in the Rising and the story of the Rising itself.
What is Scratch?
As it is defined on the MIT Scratch website, Scratch is a programming language that makes it easy to create interactive art, stories, simulations, and games – and share those creations online. While creating our projects, valuable coding and problem solving skills were learned along the way. Most importantly we had fun and used our own ideas and creativity in getting our learning across to others. Here's one of the projects below. It was created by Hannah and Dearbhla in Ms. McGrath's class. To see ALL of the projects, click on the Studio link button. Click on the green flag to start. |
