In keeping with the focus of Well-Being Week & Active Schools Week, the Parents Association is delighted to announce an evening with Kay Murphy, of www.aframeofmind.org
Kay has an MA in Leadership and Pastoral Care, is a Parent since 1997, Educator since 1990 and is an RSE and Mindfulness Facilitator.
Description of talk:
“Self-care” is a topic that I’ve heard more and more of, and increasingly from a mental health perspective. Why is self-care and wellness so important to so many people? Why has it become almost intuitive to do the counter-intuitive by being harsh and critical of ourselves? These were some of the questions I asked myself as I began to put myself in the picture.
You are invited to an evening where
- We will get an overview of issues which affect young people and their health.
- As parents we will consider the importance of maintaining our own personal health and wellbeing as we review our own self-care plan.
- We will take time to nourish ourselves through some mindfulness practices and sharing of ideas.
Where: St Brigid’s School Hall
This is a free event and is open to everyone. We hope you will come along and have a very enjoyable and informative evening.
