As we reflect on Right Action this week we have been watching this Kid President clip about how to make the world better and what we can do to help. For homework we are writing a few points of the information that we think are most important from what Kid President says. Have a look and see do you agree with him?
We've had a busy start to the year in 3rd Class. We've settled into our new classroom and are working very hard. Read below for some of the things we've been doing. Have a look at the slideshow for some pictures of what we've been up to.
On Friday 17th June our 3rd and 4th classes entertained us all by singing their wonderful 'Times Tables' songs! They were joined by musicians Peter, Claire and Stephen and all together they put on two great shows, firstly for our 1st, 2nd, 5th and 6th classes and then for their parents. Have a listen to some of the songs below...!
We have been learning about electricity in third class, room 10. We learned how to make a simple circuit. Then we learned how to make a 'switch' to turn it on and off. We have a class full of budding scientists. Third Class decorated the school walls with bright, colourful flowers. We had great fun! Hannah has completed a wonderful project on her great granduncle Dennis O'Callaghan who was involved in the Easter Rising. Well done Hannah! It has been uploaded to Scoilnet and can be found at https://www.scoilnet.ie/1916-ancestry-project/ancestry/ancestryid/2/.
3rd and 4th class have spent some time discussing and writing their own versions of the Proclamation and including what they think is important for Ireland in the next 100 years. They worked really hard and put a lot of thought into their efforts. These ideas have been combined to create one proclamation from St. Brigid's which has been uploaded to 'Scoilnet' as part of their 1916 programme. The themes covered include love for all people, education, homelessness, equality, care for the environment and peace. Click on the picture have a look at our proclamation for a new generation. |
