We love Aistear time in Room 4! It's a speacial time of the day where we learn through play and working together with our group. Last month we based our learning on the theme of 'Houses and Homes'.
The two 6th classes enjoyed a very informative, interesting and fun workshop at the Axis in Ballymun as part of Space Week. The girls looked at the planet Saturn and the Cassini mission which explored this interesting planet.
The girls were also linked to Karen O'Flaherty a European Space agency scientist via Skype whereby Karen presented a wonderful power point presentation on our solar system to the girls.
The 6th class girls in R.16 also got to learn about the International Space Station as part of Space Week, and created their own ISS models. This led us to creating our own imaginary planet, Cow Planet, which proved to be a superb planet far far away!
As part of Space Week, Ms. Phelan got a wonderful opportunity to attend the primary teachers space conference in the Netherlands as part of the European Space Agency education programme. She worked with over 50 teachers from around Europe, and brought many great ideas and materials back to school. She even got to board the ISS!!!
We wish our football team the very best of luck in the 1/4 final of the Cumann na mBunscol league this week. The girls have done so well in all their games so far and should be very proud of their conduct both on and off the field. We would like to thank all our parents for their wonderful help and support too.

Have a look back at some of the goings on around St. Brigid's last month during our September month of 'Peace'.
We are ending our month of work on 'Peace' by focusing on mindfulness. We did great work in our values copy at home, we read a story about mindfulness and we talked a lot about it this week.
3rd class are going to do some meditation homework tonight as we continue to explore this value.
If anyone else would like to try it feel free. Enjoy:-).
There is an event for the Dublin ladies All Ireland winning team tomorrow evening (Thursday 28th) in Na Fianna GAA club on Mobhi Road. There will be an open top bus parade to the club which will arrive at 7pm.
All are welcome to go along and show your support for the girls.
Well done on a great win from all of us in St. Brigid's.:-)
On the 14th September, we had our annual Harvest Day. The AMAZING Terry who voluntarily gives up his time to come and help us grow all these beautiful, tasty food was working hard all year round. We had lots of autumnal vegetables to bring home. Some vegetables included were radishes, carrots, green beans etc. We also had sunflowers for each classroom. A million thanks to Terry for all his hard work, dedication and LOVE for our school garden.
