- As part of a Government funded scheme we have 16 solar panels installed on part of the flat roof. The panels provide 6 kW of power hourly. The system is connected to the grid and the school was provided with a monitor to see how the input and output of electricity is used. - 2 phases of drainage works have now been approved under the Emergency Works scheme. Old copper pipes will be replaced by new aluminium pipes at the front of the building and in in the junior yard. It is hoped that these works will be completed over Summer. A Consultant has been appointed and the Consultant is now sourcing a Contractor to complete the works. - The exterior of the building will be painted over the Summer holidays. - Four temporary teachers and one job-share SNA will be appointed for the next academic year. -The Board thanked the Parents Association for funds raised to support the Heritage in School bread milling workshop and The Big Dig, together with the purchase of two Interactive Panels.

- The Anti-Bullying Policy was reviewed. An updated copy can be found on the school website www.stbrigid.ie -The Board congratulated staff on their successful recent Curriculum Evaluation of English. The full report will be issued to the school by the Department of Education, in due course. A review of the Child Safeguarding Statement was completed by the Board. This updated document will be issued to all members of the school community and will be found on the school website www.stbrigid.ie.
A new emergency works application for the second phase of upgraded pipes in the junior yard will be submitted to the Department of Education and Skills in due course The patron is in the process of constituting a new Board of Management to take office from December 1st 2023. Easing of Covid Restrictions 2022
The school has gradually been reverting to some of our pre-covid practices and procedures. Please see an overview of the changes below. Dismissal Change On Monday, the 25th of April (directly after the Easter break), we will be returning to our pre-covid dismissal procedure. The changes are detailed below. Dismissal Procedures -Junior and Senior Infants (13:30 dismissal) No change to dismissal procedure -1st Class (14:25 dismissal) Room 9 will be dismissed from the vehicle entrance -Room 1 will be dismissed from the pedestrian gate -2nd Class (14:27 dismissal) Room 7 and 8 will be dismissed from the pedestrian gate -3rd-6th Class (14:30 dismissal)Two classes at a time will make their way up either side of the railing and will be dismissed from the pedestrian gate Additional Changes
