Internet Safety
In St. Brigid's, we see the internet as a very powerful learning tool. However it is also a portal to the outside world. Children will be taught about online safety in school and about cyberbullying through SPHE lessons with their teacher and in their computer class. However as primary educators, parent's should also speak to their children about using the internet safely.
We have an AUP (Acceptable Usage Policy) in place for all children and their parent's to sign when they first join the school. Please find it in our 'Policies' section.
Learning about online safety is very important. We shouldn't take it for granted that children will learn this automatically. Although most children will understand and know what to do in theory it is important they are supervised when they are online.
