St. Brigid's Parents Association
Mobile: 086 1967194 stbrigidpa@gmail.com BOOK FAIR 5th & 6th December, St. Brigid’s School Hall- Volunteers needed 25th November 2019 Dear Parents, The Parents Association will be running a Book Fair in the school hall on Thursday and Friday, 5th & 6th December. The Book Fair is a sale of new books, all of which are supplied by a company called Scholastic. There will be over 200 titles to choose from, and with prices starting from approx. €4, there’s sure to be a book for everyone. There will also be a range of stationery on sale (pencils, pens, erasers, bookmarks, key rings etc) ranging from 50c to €3.70. This year you can purchase vouchers online in advance which means that your child then doesn’t have to bring cash into school. For more details see: www.bookfairs.scholastic.ie/giftvouchers Each class will have an opportunity to go to the Fair on either the Thursday or Friday. Parents are also invited to come to the Fair on Thursday evening. You are welcome to come alone or with your children on that evening. This is a great opportunity to buy suitable books for your child or to buy some Christmas gifts. We can only accept cash payments or scholastic vouchers. This event is not a fundraiser but Scholastic gives 60% of the amount raised to the school in vouchers so the school can purchase new books. The girls then benefit from having new books available to them in school. If you are planning to buy books for Christmas, you might consider buying at the Book Fair, but please do not feel under any obligation. The plan for the Book Fair is as follows:
We need some parents to help run the Fair during the school day on Thursday (9.15 – 2.15) and Friday (9.15 – 12.30). If you are available to help on either day, even for a short while, please text Lisa Jensen on 085-1679608 with the time you are available to help. Last year’s Book Fair was a huge success and the school was able to purchase over €3,000 worth of new books for the school. We hope this year will just as good. Yours sincerely, St. Brigid’s PA Committee For November in St. Brigid's we will be focusing on the value of LOVE. Our weekly sub-values this month are Acceptance, Kindness, Forgiveness and Happiness.
