Since our return to school after the Easter break, Mrs. Phelan's 6th class have been busy eager beavers reading the books shortlisted for this years Children's Book of the Year Awards. There has been much read, debated, dramatised as well as artistic works done to date. The key word from the girls in relation to this project is FUN! We were delighted to welcome Aoife and Peter on May 11th to our school to discuss the Shadowing process, and get opinions as to the girls favourite books and characters. 11 girls from the class were interviewed and recorded by CBI. Part of this interview will be shown to the authors and attendance at the Book Awards on May 19th next. St. Brigid's were the only primary school in Ireland to be chosen for this interview. Well done girls! Now to vote for the class favourite book of all the titles in this years list. It will certainly be difficult choosing from the wonderful titles we have been reading. |
