School Self Evaluation
SPHE
As part of our School Self Evaluation Process, we are reviewing the way that we teach the SPHE Curriculum -Social, Personal and Health Education. We would be very grateful if you would take the time to complete this survey in order to inform our planning and teaching of SPHE in the future.
Numeracy
During 2013 we undertook an evaluation of the teaching and learning of numeracy in the school. We conducted surveys with the parents and the pupils in the school and also looked at the standardised test results in maths to build up a comprehensive picture of maths teaching and learning.
We identified areas in maths that are working well as well as highlighting areas for improvement. With this in mind we drafted a School Improvement Plan for Numeracy. This plan will be rolled out over the next three years and will be monitored and reviewed periodically.

Literacy

During 201/2015 we undertook an evaluation of the teaching and learning of literacy in the school. We conducted surveys with the parents and pupils, looked at the standardised test results in English and teachers looked at how they teach literacy. See our Self Evaluation report for more details.
Our research showed that there is a very positive attitude to reading in our school and reading attainment is high. We have identified reading fluency as an area for improvement. With this in mind we have drafted a School Improvement Plan to address this. This plan is being rolled out from September 2015.
