On Thursday, February 25th 2016, the Greenschools' Committee along with Ms. Keogh and Ms. Freeman were delighted to attend the First ever Green-Schools EXPO in the RDS, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4. All the girls were very excited to see all the interactive exhibits, displays, fun-filled activities and learn loads of new information about the great work being done all around Ireland in other Greenschools. We learned that a regular shower uses 12L of water every minute and a power shower uses 24L in a minute. We all decided we're going to try and be more mindful of the time we spend in the shower in future. We also saw an amazing greenhouse made from recycled bottles and bamboo sticks. We've added that to our list of potential future projects. We made cool bracelets from old t-shirts and got to plant some seeds in recycled newspaper pots. We even got to meet Nick Sheridan, news2day presenter from RTE and some girls were lucky enough to get an autograph. We all had a fabulous day, learned lots of new information and saw great ideas. We also got lots of lovely souvenirs from the day. Take a look at the pictures to see just some of the fun we had. Everyone is already looking forward to returning to the EXPO next year.
