3rd class girls- put your thinking caps on and be ready to write your application letters to the Greenschools' committee after Hallowe'en! The girls in room 7 have been working hard during their first half term in first class. Let's have a look at some of what they have been getting up to so far! As part of the Maths Week the two 6th classes went to the Helix to observe Andrew Jeffrey do many maths tricks and problems. It was great to see this Mathemagician show us that maths can be lots of fun and we can all enjoy maths in lots of ways. Well done to St. Brigid's basketball team who beat Scoil Mobhi in their league match yesterday. Having won their game against St. Brigid's Wellmount last week as well, our school team is playing really well. Our next game is against Raheny here in St. Brigid's next Tuesday. A big thanks to our great supporters who were with us yesterday. 6th class solved puzzles printed on pumpkin shapes during their maths lesson. They then cut out the shapes and put them together to get a lovely pumpkin pie!
This is Maths Week and we in St. Brigid's are having lots of fun activities in our school for the week. Puzzles, maths trails, guessing Cheerios, going to a maths mathemagician...all part of Maths week for the pupils.
Below is an example of a puzzler...all pupils-and parents- are willing to give it a try! |
