We have been very busy helping Santa Claus and the elves this Christmas. We helped make lots of toys and wrap them in Santa's workshop. We made beautiful Christmas tree in junk art, built the North Pole in the construction area and even got to explore the arctic and learn about arctic animals in the water area. Check out all the fun we had below!

Today we decided to join in the festive fun and participate in the MANNEQUIN CHALLENGE. As you probably know the mannequin challenge is a viral Internet video trend where people remain frozen in action like mannequins while a moving camera films them. We have put our own spin on it and did it to a Christmas song. Have a look and watch St. Brigids Mannequin Challenge We are designing Christmas cards using the paint programme on the computer. Some children also handmade 3D Christmas cards using a variety of paper, sequences, glitter etc Have a look at how talented and creative they are. Well done to all the girls in Room 15 for their performance of the nativity story, some songs and poems. You all did a great job:-). A big thanks to all the parents and grandparents who came to see it. Thanks also to Ms. Armstrong for coming in to see it and taking this video for us.
Early on the morning of Tuesday 20th December, long before most Dublin footballers were out of their beds, Jonny Cooper & the Sam Maguire Cup came to visit us here in St. Brigid's. He arrived with his brother Niall and Mark Mc Manus (GPO -Na Fianna). There was great excitement and we're very grateful to them for taking the time to visit and chat to us. Thanks Jonny and all. We've been busy in Room 15 for the last while and have been extra busy for the last couple of weeks with all the Christmas activities. See the slideshow below for some pictures of what we've been up to.
The girls in room 7 had a lot of fun this week singing Christmas songs and reciting poetry for their parents and grandparents. Here are a few photos and videos and a behind-the-scenes sneak peak at some of the rehearsals... Well done girls! :o)
There was great excitment in room 4 today. Senior Infants had lots of fun during their nativity, singing like angels. Thanks to Ms. Brady for putting it all together. Merry Christmas! There was great excitement in Room 14 this week as we put on our Christmas jumper fashion show in school. We have been busy for the past few weeks designing and creating our festive jumpers and writing our commentaries. On Wednesday we finally got to model our creations for the school as we strutted and sparkled down the catwalk. We also sang 'Rocking Around the Christmas Tree' to get everyone in festive mood. Everyone had lots of fun! Thanks to Yvonne for videoing the event and all those who helped to make it happen. Merry Christmas Everyone! :-) The school basketball team played really well in their leaue final in the National Basketball Arena, although losing to St. Matthews on the day. The girls showed great heart and determination and great skill. Two of the girls did a great job keeping score and time. Superb support from the two 6th classes on the day was wonderful to see and hear. Well done to all on the day.Training will resume in the Spring. |
