We were delighted to have been selected as a Scoilnet 'Star Site'. This much-coveted award recognises schools all over Ireland that embrace the web as a communication tool. Well done to the teachers and students for keeping the News Blog up to date with their fantastic work and news throughout the year! Our school was featured in the April edition of the Intouch magazine which is an INTO publication. ( see image at the side) --------------------------->

Our butterflies are all grown up now ad ready to spread their wings. The girls on the St. Brigid's basketball team participated in the senior B mini basketball tournament on May 26th in the National Basketball Arena. Their first game was against Mother of Divine Grace, which they won 28-8. Their next game against Marist, Crumlin saw another great win, 30-8. This meant that the girls were now through to the final as pool winners. The opposition in the final against Lusk saw us lose out by 12 points and come runners up. The team players showed super spirit and competitiveness throughout the day, and we are very proud of them. A big well done too to the girls who marked the score sheet and worked the game clock. Well done to all involved on the day. Keep up the great work in your new schools ladies.
Some places are still available for St. Brigid's Summer Camp which takes place on July 11th -15th (5 days). Each day begins at 10am and ends at 2.30pm. It is open to children from Senior Infants-4th Class.
This year it is being run by Ms. Devlin and Ms. Edwards. There will be lots of fun activities, games, dance and sports to participate in. See brochure_ for details. Forms available from Ms Devlin in Room 15.

Room 7 have been looking after a few caterpillars over the last few weeks. We have been watching them grow bigger and bigger. We watched them nestle into their cocoons and they have just hatched out of them. We will release them into the garden next week. Room 14 are busy as ever! We had a great Active Schools' Week. (Thanks to all who organised it and for making it such a success!) We are also busy finishing off our Shadowing Programme activities and voting for our CBI Book of the Year before we attend the awards ceremony in Smock Alley Theatre on the 23rd May. Last week we had such a fun trip to Fighting Words on Russell Street where we attended a writing workshop with the wonderful Tess and all her helpers. Our story was called The Sister Hunt and you can see our published copy outside our classroom! Have a look below to see what we've been up to! :-) |
