We're so excited to welcome Germán, a singer/musician from Spain to St. Brigid's for our November values assembly. He has written and recorded songs about human values and all classes are learning his song about ''Courage' which is one of our November values. We can't wait for this singalong:-). Check out the song below if you'd like to practise at home or click on the image above to bring you to the recording on Youtube.

The girls in 6th class R.16 have been busy enjoying maths week and working on problem solving and puzzles this week. They enjoyed a wonderful visit to the Helix as part of their participation to attend a workshop given by Andrew Jeffrey. It was a fun and enjoyable hour seeing how maths can be fun and mathemagical. We love Aistear time in Room 4! It's a speacial time of the day where we learn through play and working together with our group. Last month we based our learning on the theme of 'Houses and Homes'. The two 6th classes enjoyed a very informative, interesting and fun workshop at the Axis in Ballymun as part of Space Week. The girls looked at the planet Saturn and the Cassini mission which explored this interesting planet. The girls were also linked to Karen O'Flaherty a European Space agency scientist via Skype whereby Karen presented a wonderful power point presentation on our solar system to the girls. The 6th class girls in R.16 also got to learn about the International Space Station as part of Space Week, and created their own ISS models. This led us to creating our own imaginary planet, Cow Planet, which proved to be a superb planet far far away! As part of Space Week, Ms. Phelan got a wonderful opportunity to attend the primary teachers space conference in the Netherlands as part of the European Space Agency education programme. She worked with over 50 teachers from around Europe, and brought many great ideas and materials back to school. She even got to board the ISS!!! We wish our football team the very best of luck in the 1/4 final of the Cumann na mBunscol league this week. The girls have done so well in all their games so far and should be very proud of their conduct both on and off the field. We would like to thank all our parents for their wonderful help and support too. Click here or on the image to the left to take you to our football page for more information. See below for our 2017 football team. St. Brigid's Abú. The value that we are focusing on this month is 'Love'. The weekly values for October will be 'Caring', 'Kindness', 'Joy' and then 'Friendship'. :o)
Space Week is taking place from 4th-10th October.
