6th class created Halloween Avatars using http://www.voki.com during the last computer class before the Mid-Term Break.
Our avatars are known as "Vokis". Voki is an educational tool that allows users to create their very own talking character. Voki characters can be customized to look like historical figures, cartoons, animals, and even yourself! So we decided we'd make some fun Halloween characters to tell Halloween jokes or poems. Meet some of our spooky creations below and visit our Computer Class Blog to meet the rest!

Room 14 love Hallowe'en! We have been so busy over the past few weeks! We made some very gruesome monsters from recycled materials! (Check them out on the Greenschools Blog!) We wrote Hallowe'en acrostics and spooky stories. (We also terrified each other telling stories!) We dressed up for Hallowe'en and some of us even made our own costumes. (Very green!) We made yummy chocolate apples! (With lots of help from Joan : ) We visited the Botanics to see the wonderful pumpkin displays! (Many thanks to Mr. Manning who came with us- see can you spot him in the slide show below! :) We have been very busy in 5th class in the lead up to the Hallowe'en mid-term break. Last week we went to Griffith Park with Ms. O'Byrne's senior infants to look at the beautiful autumnal leaves and nuts that were to be seen. Having enjoyed participating in maths week Mangahigh we were delighted to have two of our classmates, Sophie Burke and Feby Saji receive certs for being in the top ten in our school. We look forward to Santry Gardai and their visit to our class on Friday to remind us of fire safety. We recently entered a Dublin Fire Brigade fire safety competition, We had to design posters with slogans to remind us all to be aware of the dangers of fire, especially coming up to Hallowe'en time. We hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable break from school. There were plenty of ghouls and ghosts witches and more in the hallways of St. Brigid's on the 29th of October. Everybody including the teachers some of who you'll see in the photographs dressed up and we had a Halloween Raffle to raise funds for our school. Thanks to the Parent's Association for organising the raffle and those who bought tickets, we raised some much needed funds for our school. Lots of the children and their families won great prizes too! What did you dress up as for Halloween? |
