Congratulations girls and thank you Ballygall Credit Union.
Room 15 are watching 'Kid President' for homework as part of their values reflection week. We all disagree sometimes and this can be healthy and good if we do it in the right way. It is important to listen to each other. Let's see what Kid President has to say about it. Do you agree with him? This week's sub-value was Care for the Environment. Over the past two weeks, we have been collecting cardboard, bottle caps, egg cartons and all sorts of packaging to create our monsters. We worked in groups of 2 or 3, imagining, planning and building our creations. We are very proud of our work and really enjoyed making them. Take a look at these wonderful works of art. Written by the girls in Room 9 Room 14 celebrated Fruit Friday by making Fruit Friends. The girls could make a person or animal out of fruit and vegetables and had great fun using their imaginations! The best part was after making their fruit pals, they could gobble them up so lots of girls discovered new favourite fruits and tastes. Well done everyone! :-) As part of Well-Being Week we participated in yoga. Not only does Terry look after us by helping us grow healthy fruit and vegetables, but he also teaches us how to look after our body and mind by teaching us some yoga. Remember it is just as important to take care of our body then it is your mind. Happy Mindfulness Week everybody!! Room 14 are following the motto of 'building bridges not walls' as we investigated bridge-building in Science class.
We investigated different materials and strategies to construct the bridges and some of them held a whopping 1kg of weight! Well done everyone! :-) As part of Wellbeing week, the two 6th classes went for a Walk on Wednesday to the local Tolka Park. As we are currently learning about environmental awareness in geography, we were able to absorb nature in our locality and enjoy the beautiful park which is close to our school.
Below is the guided meditation that is part of your homework tonight (Thursday). If anyone else would like to try it feel free:-). Enjoy! |
