Welcome to our new website! This part of the website will be our main news feed in the form of a blog. It will be a period of learning for all the teacher's and children involved as we try out various ways of communicating with the school community. We are excited about our website evolving and feedback is greatly appreciated along the way.
There are lots of benefits to blogging that we have to look forward to. Not alone will it be a great way of creating links between our school and home but through using and interacting with the blog, the children will be practising internet safety, reading, writing, ICT skills and more. Please read the tab 'What is Blogging?' under the 'News Blog' heading to find out about blogging. We will be emphasising to the children the need for safe use and respect for each other when adding comments and ask that the school community support us in this. Please read the guidelines below for commenting on our blog: Guidelines for Adding a comment:
***Remember all comments will be monitored by teachers before they are posted online.*** We look forward to our new venture and the online learning opportunities that this new website will bring to our school.

Ms. Cooney's 5th class have just completed 10 badminton lessons. They worked really hard on the forehand and backhand grips as well as chasse, side and lunge steps. They learned how to serve and how to use net shots and the fore and backhand lifts. There were a few planks thrown in as well!!!
In room 1 we have been learning how to write recipes. We had lots of fun making some tasty treats. We made brown bread, jelly and gingerbread men. Have a look at our photos to see our delicious baking. We've been very busy in the "Little Room" upstairs so far this year! September saw us welcoming lots of new students from different countries, such as Poland, Moldova, Hungary and Romania. Some of the girls had never spoken English before so we've been practicing new vocabulary about ourselves, our families, Halloween, clothes and the weather. The girls have done fantastic work and can now chat with their new friends and teachers. Some of the other girls who come to the"Little Room" have been reading exciting stories like "The Children of Lir", "Princess Bella and the Frog", "Scream Street" "Elf Boy vs Superman" and "Gangsta Granny"! It's not all hard work though, we've been getting creative too. Check out our photos to see a selection of our work and crafts. |
