Flat Stanley has traveled all around the world from Ringsend, Blessington, Leitrim, Belfast, Mayo, Wexford, Donegal, Denmark, England, Japan, Australia, Liverpool and Belarus. He made it home safe and sound, so we brought him along to Tolka Park with us to have some fun.
Me and Flat Stanley went to Tolka Park. We went with all from room 9 and our reading buddies from Ms. Cooney's class. The weather was very nice. Ms. Keogh put sun-cream on us to keep us from burning. To get to the playground we had to cross over the River Tolka. We played in the playground. Flat Stanley went on the slide, the monkey bars and climbed the ropes. We had so much fun. Did you know that the River Tolka in Irish is called 'An Tulcha' which means 'The Flood'. The Tolka is the second largest river in Dublin. The Tolka begins in Dunshaughlin, Co. Meath and continues through Mulhuddart, Blanchardstown, Ashtown, Glasnevin, Drumcondra, Fairview and then enters Dublin Bay between East Wall and Clontarf. I had so much fun learning with Flat Stanley!
