As part of the project work St. Brigid's are working on in recognition of the centenary of the 1916 Rising, 5th class in room 16 have been researching and exploring the role of women in the 1916 Rising. We are particularly interested in the Gifford Sisters, especially Grace Gifford who married one of the 1916 leaders, Joseph Mary Plunkett, hours before he was executed for his part in the Rising.
