It's been a busy few weeks in 4th class. We had a very interesting visit from an author who talked to us about writing and his own books. We had the Cheerios Childline Breakfast on October 7th which was great fun for a great cause. Then two members of our Defence forces visited the school on October 8th with a copy of the Proclamation and the Irish flag as part of the 1916 centenary celebrations. We've been learning lots about 1916 and we are starting our projects on it soon. Two girls in our class Taylor and Mya got to receive the flag from the army and they were very honoured to do this. Taylor had a relative who was a witness to the rising and Mya's birthday is on the 24th April which was the day the rising started. We've also been having sessions in Gaelic football and camogie from Mark who comes to our school every Friday from Na Fianna. Finally it was Maths Week last week. We did a maths trail and worked on some maths websites at school and at home. Well done to Mya and Laura who were star performers on Manghigh. Harvest day was yesterday and we helped to harvest a giant pumpkin. Happy holidays everyone. Check our our slideshow for some pictures of recent activities.

My favourite part was when the soldiers came to our school, and how we had to say 'Yes m'am' and 'Yes sargent'!
